Welcome to our latest newsletter.
Activities at our Castle Farm and Grove care homes continue to inform and entertain our residents with something for everyone to enjoy.
Below is a small selection of what we have been up to, believe me this is just the tip of the iceberg!
Valentine’s Day at Abbeyfield Newcastle

On St Valentine’s Day residents at Castle Farm received a visit from our very own mystery man in black – actually Joe one of our carers. He handed out red roses to the residents and made each one feel very special.

Also, on St Valentine’s Day at our Grove care home residents and staff welcomed children from Maple Lodge nursery school. They had made cookies in class and shared them with residents.
Art & Craft Session at Castle Farm

Crafty ladies at Castle Farm made personalised bookmarks recently. They chose their beads and with a little help from our activities team, Helen and Natalie, added their names to make a truly unique bookmark.

Burns Night at Abbeyfield Newcastle

Robert Burn’s birthday was celebrated at both houses with the haggis being ceremoniously piped in. This was followed by John our CEO giving the address. The haggis, neeps and tatties were washed down with a wee dram, of course.
Nature Talk at Castle Farm

A speaker from the Natural History Society of Northumbria visited Castle Farm to give a talk on Gosforth Nature Reserve. This privately owned reserve is a short drive from both our homes and is an oasis in the north of the city being home to a wide variety of flora and fauna.
